Empowerment is very important for our very survival, and even though there are often things that happen to us without us being able to explain them properly, chances are that they are the result of a lot of various elements that are influenced directly by our level of empowerment at that time.

Being empowered is a great feeling, a lot of confidence surrounds you, you gain a different level of understanding of the world around you, you feel capable of doing anything and everything that you want to, but at the same time and probably one of the most important aspects of empowerment is the fact that you feel safe and at the same time able to protect the ones that you love.

You know that you are strong enough and powerful enough to do so and make sure that, at your own expense most of the time, you will manage to help your loved ones grow and flourish as they were supposed to and make something of themselves while safe and protected.

The ones that have lost their empowerment

Sadly, there are the people out there, entire families even that have lost this feeling of empowerment, and for them every day is nothing but bleak grey, another day of feeling helpless, weak and worst of all exposed and unprotected.

This is a truly horrible feeling and it can lead to a lot of traumatic and at the same time hurtful experiences not just by you, but also by everyone around you and everyone that depends on you for their safety and well being.

The effects of helplessness are devastating, and often you are stuck, unable to do anything about it but to sit there and take it.

One of the most valuable and at the same time essential tools that we as human being can have is information.

It helps us not only plan things out for the future, but also know how to handle certain situations and know as much about the world as possible, more or less the exact things that make us stand a clear cut above the rest of the beings in this world.

That being said, even though it might seem like education is no longer a problem in this world, the facts prove different, education still being lacked by a lot of individuals throughout the world, making it more and more obvious that we need to do something in order to get the people educated.

Sadly though, most people are focused mostly on themselves and the fast pace with which they must move and maneuver around in the world in order to gain more wealth and a better standing.

This is one of the harsh realities, even though more than anything we need the love and compassion of humanity in order to help the ones that are in need of it, others are still focusing on themselves.

The ones that stood up to the plate

There is a rather small group of people that opted to go past that. They opted to stop and look around and they saw how many people were going through life without education, without opportunities, without the possibilities that they need in order to make a life for themselves and their kids.

Then something magical happened, they understood what it is like to be in their shoes and they opted to stand by no longer.

These people are all the activists, all the good people and all the dedicated people that make up A Giggles Welfare Organization, the NGO that has been taking on these responsibilities and these cases for quite a bit of time now.

They are well known in the Ngo world, and their actions have helped shape lots of lives so far to the point in which most of the people that they have helped are now volunteering within their ranks as well.

It is more or less a veritable small army of very determined and very dedicated people.

There is a small problem though, the road in front of them is still a long one, and there are still a lot of cases and people out there that need their desperate help, and A Giggles WelfareOrganization, even though determined and dedicated, cannot handle it all on their own. Empowerment is something that we tend to receive at ages as young as 1, more or less affirming our capabilities and making us feel better about ourselves, however, as we age up something rather strange and peculiar starts happening, we receive less and less empowerment, to the point in which, around the age of 7-8, we encounter those who will try and take empowerment away from us, more or less rendering us powerless and victimized.

This is something that we have come to know and more or less accept as being bullying, even though we all know that it tends to have dire effects on the mental and psychological evolution of the victims of this practice.

The same, but on a larger scale, happens to women and children in different parts of the world their power being cut short and their victimization reaching more and more heights with each passing day.

This in turn leads to abuse, oppression, victimization, humiliation, blackmailing, sexual exploitation and rape, and the list goes on and on, the effects of victimization never ceasing to amaze and at the same time disgust us.

There are few people that would even bother to think about the victims, much less help them out, however we must understand that the lives of these women and these children will never be a good one if outside help is not received.

They are defenseless, they cannot handle this all alone, and so the call has been put out, and it has been answered.

The good people and the activists at A Giggles Welfare Organization have been quick to pick up on the call and immediately go to these places and do whatever they can in order to help these women and children not only become self-sufficient but also fend for them and protect them as best they can.

 Maternal and child mortality is a major concern worldwide and it mostly affects communities who do not have access to proper maternal healthcare facilities. Lack of obstetric care and trained professionals accounts for numerous maternal and infant deaths. It is quite essential to provide women easy access to skilled care and maternity services, before during and after pregnancy.

Another way to ensure reduced maternal and child mortality rates is to provide the health care providers the assistance they require in order to perform their job effectively. Often our healthcare facilities lack essential surgical supplies and resources required for the maternal health care services.

·        Providing awareness and education regarding maternal health:

Women living in remote areas or in bad social circumstances often lack awareness on maternal health. Our job is providing them with the counselling and guidance required by these women. Also to enable women take better care of themselves and their new born children by providing them with proper knowledge and education regarding possible complications and their preventive methods.

·        Providing social support and guidance to women in crisis:

Women in our country are often going through various domestic problems and are frequently subjected to discrimination and violence, these issues not only affect the mental and physical health of the mother to be but also pose a major threat to the health and well being of her child. A Giggles Welfare Organization is striving to provide these mothers with social and monetary support they require and strives to provide them with better options as well as legal support. So these women in crisis could feel they are not alone in their struggle.
