There are problems in all sectors that range from inequality, poverty as well as physical and mental abuse. There is an absolute need to stop these problems. The government is trying to help the downtrodden but cannot reach to all the people. NGO’s plays an active role in helping the distraught people find redemption. In this section we will take a look at some of the objectives of a big organization like AGWO ( A Giggles Welfare Organization ).
Healing Mission:
AGWO is on a healing mission that is helping as many people as they come across by providing them with medical cure that include free drugs and free treatments. These needy patients come from various cultural and religious backgrounds. The NGO believes that it is only a healthy population that can contribute to a growing India. To support this cause, they provide free pick up and drop to the patients living in the vicinity that includes Delhi, NCR and Noida. Doctors carry out free medical checkups to help keep the patients health in check.
Teaching Mission:
The NGO also believes that education is the road to prosperity. It is only a formal education can take a person’s future ahead. It is also important to understand that this nation’s fundamentals were built on the pillars of education. The under privileged people are given a formal education along with lessons of how to live an ethical life. Books and study material is given free to these children to encourage them to learn more. They are also taught in a rehabilitation center that is completely air conditioned which conducive to better learning. Mid day meals are also made available to the children to provide them with free food keeping in mind the nutritional necessities of a growing child.
Job offers:
Just providing the women and the men food or clothes for a day will not help them in the long run. You need to teach them a specific trade to help them stand on their feet for their life. This is one of AGWO’s missions to help the distraught people revive their fighting spirits and help them generate a monthly income through their new skills. These skills are taught to many women who are more eager to learn as compared to men. They use these skills to help create things like fancy envelopes or candles that are sold on the site of the NGO for remuneration. Some people are also taught and given free books for getting a formal education.
Others:
The job of AGWO is not only the above three missions. They also have a variety other objectives like visiting the slums, taking up individual cases of people and alleviate their cases. They also organize blood donation camps and have food/book drives as well as create awareness throughout the masses through campaigns. They also encourage more people to take part in these events.
